NBA All Star Draft 2019

NBA All Star Draft 2019 Game works a little differently now. Starting last year, the league changed the format of the teams to a playground-style draft, with the two leading vote-getters in each conference serving as captains. It’s a pretty fun way to switch things up from the classic Eastern Conference vs. Western Conference, and added a bit of intrigue to what had become a boring final event of All-Star Weekend.

Pretty much everyone likes the new style of doing things, but there was one main complaint. Last year, the actual draft was done in secret, and announced at a later date. It should be televised for maximum excitement and drama, most argued, and the league agreed. This time around, they’ll do it live.

Date: Thursday, Feb. 7

Time: 7 p.m. ET

Streaming: fuboTV

The 2019 NBA All-Star Draft picks will be revealed live on TNT. The “NBA All-Star Draft Show” will precede “TNT NBA Tip-Off.” A live stream of the broadcast is also available online via fuboTV, which offers a free seven-day trial.

Each team will each have 13 players. James and Antetokounmpo can draft their rosters regardless of conference affiliation. Team LeBron has the No. 1 overall pick for the starter pool, and Team Giannis selects first for the reserve pool. Team LeBron and Team Giannis will alternate picks each round.

NBA commissioner Adam Silver made Dirk Nowitzki and Dwyane Wade special additions for a bonus draft round. Team LeBron will get the first choice in that round as well.

Ahead of All-Star weekend (Feb. 15-17 in Charlotte, N.C.), the NBA will hold its second All-Star Draft after last year’s battle between LeBron James’ team and Stephen Curry’s squad. James is a captain once again, but he will be facing Giannis Antetokounmpo this time around in what should be another entertaining contest.

Sky Sports are the exclusive rights holders for NBA in the UK. And they will be showing the NBA All-Star draft special live on Sky Sports Main Event and Sky Sports USA from 12am Friday February 8th.

This is the first year the NBA All-Star draft will be televised after criticism from the 2018 selection process. The All-Star game format changed drastically last year, moving away from the traditional Eastern vs Western Conference All-Stars. While there are still 12 players selected respectively from each conference, the teams are now selected by two players who receive the most fan votes, regardless of their conference affiliation.

The captains will first pick from the starter pool before moving to the reserve pool and there has been two additions this year for a special bonus third round.

NBA All Star Draft live stream Existing customers will be able to stream the action via the Sky Go app, which can be downloaded across a host of iOS and Android devices. Fans without a subscription can still tune in to the game through a NOW TV sports pass.

The NBA trade deadline is grabbing all the headlines right now, but that will quickly overshadowed by the inaugural NBA All-Star draft later in the evening. Team LeBron returns once again this year, although he will be representing the Western Conference this time around and Giannis Antetokounmpo will be other team captain having received the most votes in the East. The All-Star weekend is just over a week away, scheduled to get underway on February 15 in Charlotte, North Carolina.
